Diara Charitable Trust is a registered Indian non-profit organization dedicated to serving vulnerable riverine communities across Bihar through disaster relief, education, healthcare accessibility, and sustainable grassroots development.

Diara Charitable Trust was established in 2008 with the conviction that meaningful social transformation begins where vulnerability is highest: directly at the community level. The riverine tracts (diara areas) of Bihar face acute annual challenges—recurring monsoon floods, displacement, educational interruption, and seasonal hardships.
Rather than operating from distant offices, our teams work directly on the ground alongside village elders, local schools, and community volunteers to deliver emergency supplies, learning resources, and rehabilitation assistance with zero intermediary dilution.

Why the Trust Was Started
Diara terrains—the fertile yet vulnerable sandbar lands along Bihar's rivers—have historically endured seasonal isolation. During monsoons, river levels surge, washing away homes and submerging access routes.
Closing the Isolation Gap
Riverine settlements are often the last to receive emergency assistance during disasters. DCT was founded to pre-position resources and respond instantly.
Preserving Education
Seasonal displacement frequently forces children to drop out of school. We provide learning kits, bags, and support to keep children enrolled.
Dignity-First Assistance
We reject paternalistic charity. Every initiative is planned alongside community elders, respecting the agency and dignity of every family.
